What Is This?
The Worry Box Animator is an anxiety management tool that takes a specific worry, rates it on likelihood, emotional intensity, and perceived control — then generates a visual animation of the worry shrinking alongside a personalised reflection prompt delivered via WhatsApp.
Why It Exists
Anxiety loops are self-reinforcing. The worry feels big because it keeps getting thought about, and it keeps getting thought about because it feels big. Externalising and downsizing the worry through visualisation breaks the loop by changing your relationship to the thought — not by suppressing it.
Who It's For
- ▸People who experience recurring anxious thoughts that loop without resolution
- ▸Neurodivergent individuals who are prone to catastrophising or rumination
- ▸Anyone looking for a technology-mediated approach to anxiety management between therapy sessions
How It Works
You describe the worry, rate its likelihood of coming true (0–100%), its emotional intensity (1–10), and your perceived sense of control (0–100%). The algorithm generates a worry shrink animation and a reflection prompt that invites reframing based on your specific inputs.
You get:
- ▸A dynamic animation showing your worry diminishing in proportion to its actual likelihood and controllability
- ▸A personalised reflection prompt delivered via WhatsApp
- ▸A simple visualisation tool that makes abstract anxiety feel more manageable
What Makes It Different
This combines cognitive behavioural principles (probability assessment, perceived control) with visual metaphor — a combination that works particularly well for visual thinkers and ADHD brains.
